What does "vetted babysitters" mean on The Babysitting Tribe?
Every babysitter completed our full verification before their profile was ever visible to a family. A background check through SureCheck, re-run every year. Identity verified. A face to face interview with our team. Reference calls placed by us, not collected on a form. A current pediatric CPR and first aid certification through an accredited program. And an experience level rated and written by us. No self-listing, no algorithm, no shortcuts.
How is The Babysitting Tribe's babysitting service different from Care.com, Sittercity, or UrbanSitter?
Those platforms let babysitters self-list, and anyone can create a profile. Background checks are usually optional paid add-ons, and the platform does not verify the experience listed. The Babysitting Tribe does the opposite. Every babysitter is interviewed, background checked, reference checked, and personally approved by the team that runs The Nanny Tribe, a nanny agency families have trusted for over a decade.
Where are babysitters available?
The Babysitting Tribe serves San Francisco, the East Bay, Tri-Valley, the Peninsula, South Bay, and Marin. Families outside this area can request their location for the next expansion list.
How do memberships work?
Memberships come in three tiers based on how often you need care. Each plan includes a set number of confirmed bookings each month, and credits reset monthly. You book directly with vetted babysitters from live availability. Full details and pricing are on the plans and pricing page.
What happens if a babysitter cancels or a family cancels?
A credit is used when a babysitter confirms a booking. If a family cancels within 48 hours, that credit is forfeited. If the babysitter cancels, the credit is restored to your account.
What if I need more coverage than my membership allows?
Concierge booking is available to every active member for eighty-five dollars per request. When you need hours beyond your plan, or you would rather we handle it, our team steps in and does the matching and sends you a short list of available babysitters. Concierge requests need seventy-two hours notice and are made in your member dashboard.
Do I have to keep my membership active to book a babysitter?
Yes. Membership keeps your access to the vetted roster and live booking active. Essential and Lifestyle include monthly bookings with a three month minimum. Blue Moon is an annual membership for occasional care, with no monthly credits, where you pay per confirmed booking.
